“The UKs highest beach” Loch Morlich is the UK’s highest beach sat at 984 feet above sea level! The large loch is surrounded by sandy beaches and lots of affordable parking. The beach also has some paid watersports activities available in the warmer seasons. There is also a cycle route around the outside of the loch. When snow falls in winter the Loch can completely freeze over which makes for a breathtaking sight. The large freshwater loch is very open and so you will have great views of the surrounding mountains when visiting. Loch Morlich is just a short drive or cycle from Aviemore, it is located in Glenmore and is on the main road to the Cairngorm Mountain! If you are staying at the Glenmore Campsite then you will have direct access to the sandy beaches.
